Culpeper Cycling Century: Saturday, Oct. 1

Ok so we’re a little bit biased but the Culpeper Century really is our favorite ride of the year and the 2016 incarnation takes place on Saturday, October 1st.  We really are looking forward to this year’s ride, since last year we were rained out. With a new starting location the 2016 incarnation of the event offers three route options, a 36, a 67 and 103 mile ride.

This year’s ride starts from Culpeper Baptist Church (318 South West St.) and rolls out at 8:30 am. The english and metric centuries share the same route to about mile 52 and then they diverge, with the longer route headed through the hills on Mt. Zion Church road and into Remington, while the shorter metric century heads to Brandy Station and the last rest stop before turning into the usual headwinds in Stevensburg.

As usual the first 500 registrants will receive a long sleeve event t-shirt and the longer route rides also get lunch on the route.  This year’s lunch is being catered by Burnt End BBQ and will feature sandwich options of ham, turkey or vegetarian.

For all the ride details, including registration information, be sure to check out the Culpeper Cycling Century website.

  1. I haven’t seen anything yet, but curious if there will be a century in 2017 and if so, is the date available yet?
