Ok, so we’re a little bit biased, but the Culpeper Century really is our favorite ride of the year, and the 2019 incarnation takes place on Saturday, October 5th. We are really looking forward to this year’s event, and with a new open start format, it should make the ride out of town a breeze. There are three route options, a 36, a 67, and a 103-mile ride.
This year’s ride starts from Culpeper Baptist Church (318 South West St.), and riders can begin anytime after 8 am. The english and metric centuries share the same route to about mile 48. The longer route heads through the hills on Monumental Mills road and into Rixeyville, while the shorter metric century heads south to Catalpa.
As usual, the first 500 registrants will receive an event t-shirt, and the longer route riders also get lunch. This year’s lunch is being catered by Burnt Ends BBQ.
After Party
New this year! After the ride, VeloConcepts will be hosting an “After Party.” With free food & refreshments for all participants, you can refuel and celebrate! And they’re located just down the block from the start on E. Locust & Waters Pl.
